Once you have a reliable grill at home, you can buy some fresh corn right away and start cooking. For a chance to enjoy such tasty and delightful treat, it is good to learn how to grill corn.
Ingredients
For the corn, you need 6 cups of cold water, a tablespoon of black pepper and a tablespoon of dried parsley. In addition, bring in ½-tablespoon of garlic powder or a piece of garlic cube, 2-teaspoons of kosher sea salt and 6-pieces of fresh ears of corn, preferably with husks. For the seasoned butter, you will need a basting brush, a teaspoon of dried parsley and ¼-cup butter. To add more taste and flavor, be sure to bring in a dash of black pepper, a dash of salt and a teaspoon of garlic powder. Once you have these things, you can start grilling those corns right away.
Steps
This is an unconventional way of grilling corns. Instead of grilling them right away, you need to put them first in a pan that can fit them all. For this particular task, you can use a foil turkey pan. Try to take off the outermost layer of the husk of the corns. This will leave a fresh and clean layer. Cut the top part of the corn husks for about ½-inch. Lay them aside first.
Get a nice clean mixing bowl and then combine cold water with the black pepper, dried parsley and garlic powder. After that, add the salt as well. Mix the ingredients well until all the garlic and salt dissolve completely right into the water. Put the corn inside the pan. Try to arrange the corns in one layer as much as possible. Pour the mixture over the corns. In case the water is not enough to cover all the corns, try to add more water until they are submerged completely. Leave the corns soaked in the water for approximately an hour.
While waiting for the corns, you can start setting up the grill. Try to put it somewhere between low and medium heat. Once the grill is ready, put the corns on top of it without removing the husks. Shut the lid of the grill. Do not throw the seasoned right away because you can still use it during the grilling process. Leave one side of the corn for approximately 10 minutes before turning. After cooking the other side for 10 minutes, try to turn it once more for another 10 minutes. Do the same thing to the other side.
In case the husks are drying out because of the grilling process, take the corns off the grill and then dip them right into the seasoned water once again. Return them right on top of the grill. Cook the corn for about 30 minutes. Constantly turn the corns from side to side after every 10 minutes. Once the husks dry out completely, take them off the grill. Remove the husks and then lay aside for about 5 minutes.
While this is happening, you can now prepare the seasoned butter. Get a microwave-safe dish and then combine the dried parsley, black pepper, salt, garlic powder and butter. Place the dish right inside the microwave oven and then boil for a minute. Take it out of the oven and then stir. Get the basting brush and then baste the corn with the butter mixture before serving.
